Edibles Education

Everyone’s metabolism is different and therefore has a different reaction to cannabis edibles.  It is important you understand your tolerance levels for a safe and enjoyable experience.  Please keep these tips in mind:

  • Read the packaging! We provide high dosage products; what looks like 1 dose may really be 4 or more.  Use our dosing chart to help guide your dosing decisions.
  • Depending on your metabolism edibles can take 15min to 2 hours before reaching their peak, give your body time to digest before increasing your dose.
  • Solid edibles (gummies, bars, cups, caramels) are ingested through your digestive system so it may be up to 60 minutes before you feel any effect. If you have not reached your desired effect,  increase your dose by 10mg.  Please remember it may take up to 2 hours to feel the full effects.
  • Liquid/capsule edibles (tinctures, honey, hot chocolate, syrups, oil) are ingested orally so it may be up to 20 minutes before you feel any effect. If desired effect has not been reached, increase your dose by 10mg. Please remember it may take up to 2 hours to feel full effects.
  • THC is the part of cannabis that gets you high. THC is fat soluble. This means that if you eat an edible and then eat something with a lot of fat in it (pizza, cake, etc.), the fat in the food will bond with the THC in your belly and amplify your high!
  • Always keep drinking water while enjoying an edible experience. It’ll keep you hydrated and keep things flowing smoothly and comfortably.
  • When you experience an edibles high, it may last for an extended period, about 4-6 hours. Because your body is metabolizing the THC, you may feel the high flowing through your whole body, in a full, radiating feeling.
  • If you can, try not to pair edibles with alcohol, especially if you live in lower elevations. Sometimes combining edibles and alcohol can give you the spins. We want you to have a nice time and not be uncomfortable.

Do not drive while enjoying edibles!  You never know when it will kick in and you do not want to be behind the wheel when it does. Plan your day accordingly.

Tips for relieving overconsumption of edibles

Green Soup edibles have a high THC content and consuming an entire edible may result in adverse effects if you consume more than your body can handle.  Follow the dosing guidelines to help you determine the perfect dose for you.  Should you experience any adverse side effects try these tips for relief:

  • Be in a calm, safe environment around someone who can provide gentle reassurance that everything will be OK.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • A large 50-200mg dose of CBD can act as a partial antidote.
  • High dose of Vitamin C. Lemon oil, found predominantly in the rind and in lower amounts in the juice, has also been used historically for this purpose. Grate a tablespoon of lemon zest and chew it up before swallowing.
  • Most people do not need emergency medical care unless they have pre-existing heart disease or another serious medical condition. For ongoing vomiting and diarrhea, intravenous rehydration may be necessary.
